Klezmer Company Jazz Orchestra

Jazz

The American dance bands were the rave of popular culture in the first half of the 20th century. Each band produced their own distinct sound. These "charts" were written for flexible orchestration. The best ones were paid well and performed the most popular songs of the day by Ellington, Gershwin, Berlin, Porter, and more. Come hear this amazing American music to celebrate Independence Day. Klezmer Company Jazz Orchestra will play original handwritten arrangements from the 1930's for a jazz band with vocals. The performance will include popular melodies such as Blue Skies, Way Down in New Orleans, Gershwin songs, Broadway Mambo, Night and Day, and a Klezmer suite for small dance band. Come celebrate the Spirit of America!
