Romeo is Bleeding

Film

Donté Clark is a young poet who transcends the violence in his hometown by writing about his experiences. Growing up in Richmond, California, a city haunted by a fatal turf war, Donté and the like-minded youth of his city mount an urban adaptation of Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet.’ With the hope of starting a dialogue about violence, will Richmond crush Donté’s idealism? Or will Donté end Richmond’s cycle of trauma? All patrons entering the theater require a ticket regardless of age. This includes children and infants. SMDCAC Subscribers enjoy two complimentary tickets. Contact the SMDCAC Box Office for details.
