Make beautiful fabrics using Shibori dying techniques. This two-hour workshop is a perfect intro to Natural Dyes. You will learn the basics concepts of natural dyes and how to apply them to natural fibers. Shibori is a Japanese dyeing technique that typically involves folding, twisting or bunching cloth and binding it, then dyeing it with natural dyes. All materials are included. Students should bring gloves and apron. About the teacher: Veronica Buitron is an Ecuadorian textile designer living in Miami. Her design practice focuses on working with artisan communities, traditional manufacturing methods, sustainable fibers, and natural materials. She believes design can be a tool for social change. Veronica is the founder and CEO of Suspiro, a label that creates modern, long lasting handwoven goods and fashion accessories.
