19th Annual Lulu's Bait Shack Mardi Gras Event

The 19th annual event will feature a night of bands, beer, beads, booze and Cajun food. There will be three live bands playing rock music. The downstairs tent will feature a DJ from 6 pm to 8 pm and “Bounce” from 8 pm to Midnight. Upstairs in Lulu’s, “The Crush” will play from 6 to 10 pm and “Sippin Fire” from 10 pm to 2 am. Cajun food such as 200 lbs of Hot & Spicy crawfish, gumbo, jambalaya and other great specialties will be featured. Proceeds will benefit Covenant House Florida/ The Young Professionals for Covenant House auxiliary group. Over the past 18 years Lulu’s has contributed more than $11,000 from this event to Covenant House Florida as well as provided a venue for a worthy cause to raise more money at the event. Lulu’s has also donated over $7,500 in Thanksgiving Turkeys to Covenant House Florida for the Holidays. Covenant House Florida’s mission is to provide shelter for homeless, runaway and at-risk youth under the age of 21 including young moms and their babies. Covenant House Florida provides services to help youth achieve independence through education, addiction management programs, job readiness training and much more. There will also be contests including a Best Beads contest for $500 for one winner at midnight, and the winner will take home cash prizes. Lulu’s will also be giving out complimentary beads. Flora De Cana Rum, Trader Vic’s Dark Rum, Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum and Budweiser are sponsoring the event. Drink specials include $5 (14 ounce) Hurricanes with Flora De Cana rum, $4 (16 ounce) aluminum bottles of Bud, Bud Light and Bud Light Lime, $3 (14 ounce) Budweiser, Bud Light, Shock Top and Amber Bock Drafts. “It’s definitely the largest Mardi Gras Party in South Florida on Fat Tuesday,” said John Kovacs, Managing Partner for Lulu’s Bait Shack. DJ Jade Alexander from 102.7 The Beach will be at the party giving away prizes plus 2 gift certificates for 2 to be used at Lulu’s Bait Shack on Valentine’s Day for the Best Beads and Costumes.
