Free Historic Bike Tours - Coconut Grove

Community Event, Bicycling, Tour

Take a relaxing bike tour through the central and southern districts of Coconut Grove, celebrating the men who were so important to the character of this charming area. We'll pass by The Barnacle, home of the true father of the community, Commodore Ralph Munroe. As we ride the lush, shady streets, learn about agriculturalist and developer Ebenezer Stirrup, Botanist David Fairchild, Lighthouse Keeper "Jolly Jack" Peacock, and many other unusual Grove residents who helped establish the town. Also, since June is the peak time for our tropical flowering trees, prepare to view the brilliant floral display that now emblazons the neighborhood. Meet in front of City Hall, 3500 Pan-American Dr., Coconut Grove. Sponsored by Coconut Grove Business Improvement District. Be sure to bring sunblock, water, and a bike. Advance registration required; send an email to: frank@royalpalmtoursofmiami.com. Be sure to state your name, and number of guests you plan to bring.
