Rock

The British rock band formed in 1978 by David Coverdale, the original lead singer of Deep Purple, played blues rock in its early years but moved through the 1980s into hard rock and metal. The band's 1987 album, "Whitesnake," went three times platinum in the U.S. After disbanding in 1994, the band regrouped in 2002. In its millennium incarnation it has released three albums: "Good to Be Bad," "Forevermore" and most recently "The Purple Album" in 2015.
