Free @ The Frank Workshop: Flora and Fauna through the Lens – Photography Workshop

Photography

Learn the fundamental secrets behind effectively capturing nature through photography. Led by award-winning travel and nature photographer Kirsten Hines, this introductory course will teach participants on formal photography techniques, proper lighting strategies and more. Ages 12 years and older. All materials are provided and no prior experience is required. This workshop is free and open to the public.

Frank Contemporaries

Art Show, Photography

Frank Contemporaries is a free monthly pop-up exhibition and meet-up for emerging creative and visual arts professionals to network and foster connections. The July Frank Contemporaries will feature photographs taken throughout Africa by nature photographer, author and researcher Kirsten Hines. This event will include a presentation on the ‘Embrace Music Foundation’ by co-founder and board chair, musician and educator Willie Stewart, as well as an African dance and drumming performance led by Anita Macbeth, dance teacher at Bethune Elementary School of Visual & Performing Arts and former choreographer for the Bronx Council of the Arts, New York Housing Authority. This event is free to the public. Complimentary refreshments and hors d’oeuvres will be served.

Kids’ Corner @ The Frank: Story Time Hour

Children's Arts/Crafts

Join The Frank for story time! Together with their guardian, children ages eight and under build literacy and engage in art activities related to the exhibition, Into Africa. In celebration of individuality and understanding, the featured storybook will be “The Water Princess” by Susan Verde. All children must be accompanied by an adult. The event is free and open to the public.

Classical

Join Richard Hancock, acclaimed soloist and the principal clarinetist for the Boca Philharmonic, for an evening of music as he fuses four soloist into an all-star chamber music unit. Opening Reception of New Industry: Contemporary Visions of the Industrial

Art Show, Installations, Mixed Media

The Frank presents New Industry: Contemporary Visions of the Industrial, an exhibition focused on industrial aesthetic, blurring the lines between fine art, mechanical design and fabrication while also challenging traditional artmaking materials and techniques. The new exhibition will feature the work of five South Florida artists: Nestor Arenas, Yves Gabriel, Kx2, Devora Perez and Norman Silva. Reception guests will enjoy a performance by top Miami rap artist and Pembroke Pines native, Sam Stan. The Third Space Gallery will feature an exhibition of artwork by the students of Fletcher Art & Cultural Center. This event is free and open to the public. Complimentary refreshments and hors d’oeuvres will be served.
