Frank Contemporaries is a free monthly pop-up exhibition and meet-up for emerging creative and visual arts professionals to network and foster connections. November’s Frank Contemporaries is a special college edition, showcasing, creative works by the students of Florida International University. Featuring a survey of new works by current cohorts and alumni of the FIU Ratcliffe Art & Design Incubator. Featured creatives include Victoria Yunta, Laura David, Victoria Caraballo, Chris Friday and Michael Fernandez. This event will include a presentation on artistic thinking and business innovation by guest speaker Neil Ramsay, creative economist and Founder of ArtsUP! Concepts, a hybrid of concept, gallery and public space. Complimentary wine, beer and hors d’oeuvres will be served. This event is free and open to the public.

“Mommy and Me” @ The Frank! Story Time Hour

Join The Frank for story time! Together with their guardian, children ages eight and under build literacy and engage in art activities related to the exhibition, Afterglow. All children must be accompanied by an adult. The event is free and open to the public.

Careers in the Arts: Lauren Carey

Careers in the Arts is a monthly lively lecture series that focuses on a wide range of professions including and beyond the practice of art. Lauren Carey is a professional ballet dancer and the artistic director of Ballet Florida Dance Company. A certified teacher by the American Ballet Theatre’s national training curriculums, Carey is on faculty at The Harid Conservatory in Boca Raton, Fla. and is an artist in residence at The Alexander W. Dreyfoos Jr. School of the Arts in West Palm Beach, Fla. Carey will discuss her career journey and offer advice to aspiring artists. This event is free and open to the public.

Free@TheFrank Workshop: Holiday Card Making for Kids with Debi London

Gallery, Children's Arts/Crafts

Together with their caretakers, children will have the opportunity of learning easy painting methods to create cards with artist and elementary art teacher Debi London. Participants will get to enjoy hot cocoa, listen to classical holiday stories, decorate gingerbread cookies and create festive hand-painted cards. All materials provided and no prior experience is requited. Ages six years and older and guardians must be present.

Frank Contemporaries is a free monthly pop-up exhibition and meet-up for emerging creative and visual arts professionals to network and foster connections. December’s Frank Contemporaries presents a special holiday event: The Frank’s Small Press Fair! Guests will have the opportunity to sip on hot cocoa, network with other arts professionals and catch up on holiday shopping while supporting local artists. Local artists selling their work include Ingrid Schindall, Sammi McLean, Michelle Miller, Ingrid A Sanchez, Jessica Condon, Kim Heise, Juana Meneses and more. Complimentary wine, beer and hors d’oeuvres will be served. This event is free and open to the public. The Frank is located in the Charles F. Dodge City Center in Pembroke Pines at 601 City Center Way. Admission to The Frank is free.
