After the passing of guitarist Randy Rhodes, Ozzy Osbourne was in search of a partner in crime who had enough chops and stage presence to fill a large pair of shoes. He plucked Zakk Wylde from Zyrus -- a small Jersey band -- and took him straight to the world's biggest stages. Besides his on-again/off-again relationship with Ozzy, Zakk formed the Pride and Glory trio in 1994, came close to becoming a member of Guns 'N' Roses and later released a solo album entitled 'Book of Shadows.' Wylde formed Black Label Society in 1998 as a vehicle for his own artistic vision: uncompromising, unfiltered, no bullshit rock’n’roll.

Appetite for Destruction has been paying tribute to Guns N' Roses since 2000, packing venues throughout the tri-state area. They have opened for ex-Guns N' Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke twice, and headlined with some of the best tribute bands in the business. Unlike many other tribute bands, AFD focuses explicitly on the audio and visual aspects of Guns N' Roses, and strives for duplication in both areas. They are able to perform over 37 songs, which allows them to let the crowd often choose the set as they go along. All of the hit singles, rock radio staples, and GNR fan favorites are there.
