Hari Kondabolu

Brooklyn-based Hari Kondabolu has made a name for himself as a writer and performer on "Totally Biased," the FX show that starred the equally thoughtful W. Kamau Bell. As a former immigrants' rights activist, Kondabolu, like Bell, favors comedy with political implications. 2014 was a big year for him: He was interviewed at length by Terry Gross on NPR's "Fresh Air," held an artist's residency at NYU and released a comedy album, "Waiting for 2042," on the indie-rock label Kill Rock Stars. he followed that album in 2016 with Mainstream American Comic."

Based on the novel by Gaston Leroux, Andrew Lloyd Webber's "The Phantom of the Opera" tells the story of a mysterious, disfigured man who lives in the bowels of the Paris Opera House. He becomes obsessed with Christine, a young singer, and takes it upon himself to further her career at any cost. This "Phantom" features a new scenic design by Paul Brown, Tony Award-winning original costume design by Maria Björnson, lighting design by Tony-winner Paule Constable, new choreography by Scott Ambler and a new staging by director Laurence Connor, as well as an orchestra and cast of 52.
