Artist Reception featuring Jill Krutick and Hubert Phipps

Art Show, Museum

Join the Coral Springs Museum of Art for a complimentary artist reception featuring contemporary abstract expressionist Jill S. Krutick and sculptor Hubert Phipps while enjoying light refreshments and hors d’oeuvres. Krutick and Phipps’ exhibits will be on display from Saturday, March 16, 2019 through Saturday, May 18, 2019. Jill Krutick: Lyrical Abstraction. Krutick’s style is based on the principles of abstract expressionism, an important American invention in contemporary art, and is inspired by earlier female artists such as Helen Frankenthaler and Lee Krasner. Krutick paints in both oils and acrylics and has incorporated color and textural components into her paintings, such as swirling and rhythmic forms, which offers viewers a brand of artistic poetry that is instantly recognizable as Krutick’s individual signature. Krutick’s exhibit is curated by artist and critic Bruce Helander, featuring more than thirty large-scale canvases celebrating the configurations of contemporary abstraction, with accented colors, compelling textural surfaces and beautiful depths. Hubert Phipps: Journey Continued. For Hubert Phipps, the most powerful art is art that connects within you before you begin to analyze art through thought. Phipps’ art relies on experiencing the realm of the abstract mind in an inmate way and transferring that abstract vision into a physical form, whether it is captured through paper, on canvas, or as a 3D object. Often, as Phipps develops a drawing from scratch, his work builds from the internal to the external, growing exponentially.
