The Art of Balance is a series of outdoor gravity-defying sculptures by Polish artist Jerzy Kedziora, the newest installation and part of Art at Fairchild, on view from now until April 30, 2018 at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in Coral Gables.

Let Chef Chris teach you the basics so that you can make the most of our local fresh fish. He will start with how to select the perfect catch, filleting and last but not least, cooking the fish. He will prepare the fish using a traditional technique like fish in a bag and add a special Asian twist by using sticky rice and Asian vegetables. Creative Saturdays at Fairchild with Hillary Parker at Fairchild

Whether you are just starting out, or already have taken drawing or watercolors classes, these four-hour Saturday studio classes are fun and informative. Through unique exercises, demonstrations and personal guidance, each student will progress and work independently at their own level, while building a strong foundation of skills in both drawing and watercolors. Note about your supplies for this class: For those students who have previously taken Hillary's classes please plan to bring all of your drawing and watercolor supplies from her previous painting classes. For new students, a supply list will be available. As an option, for a $15 supply fee all art supplies will be provided for use during class time only. This fee would be paid directly to the instructor on the first day of class.

The Mango and Tropical Fruit Festival

Celebrating the mangos of Haiti and other favorite tropical fruits! Everyone’s favorite event is back to celebrate the king of tropical fruit and other tropical favorites! This year, we showcase the mango, along with other tropical fruits. Including: avocado’s, jackfruit, mamey, sapodilla, canistel and many more. Enjoy fruit displays, fruit tastings, tree sales, lectures and demonstration on growing them in your backyards, cooking demonstrations from local chefs, a beer garden, education and science surrounding the importance of these fruits and more! And, don’t forget about some of our mango festival favorites like the Mango Brunch and Mango Auction, both taking place on Sunday, July 15.
