Miami International Piano Festival presents: Pietro De Maria

"When Pietro De Maria puts his hands on the piano, it comes spontaneously to revive an old definition: he is a poet of the keyboard." Lorenzo Arruga, II Giornale. After receiving the Critics' Prize at the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow (1990), Pietro De Maria won First Prize in other prestigious international piano competitions. Revealing a precocious talent, he won First Prize at the Alfred Cortot International Piano Competition in Milan at the age of 13. He graduated from the Conservatory of Venice and continued his studies at the Conservatory of Geneva, where he obtained the Premier Prix de Virtuosité with the highest honors. De Maria has been acclaimed for his live performances and recordings, which include the complete works of Chopin. Claude Monet- The Quintessential Impressionist Claude Monet was one of the creators of Impressionism and one of the most convinced and constant in his creative output. It was one of his paintings that gave Impressionism its name. He painted in series the ephemeral effects of nature and the hardships he suffered never deterred him from that pursuit. Armando Droulers is an art historian, educator, lecturer, and consultant. He studied at Bard College, Academia de Arte Federico Brandt, New World School of the Arts and The University of Florida. He lectures on art and culture at museums, universities, schools, cultural centers, corporate events and cruise ships. He has lived in Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and the United States and speaks fluent English, French and Spanish.

Nunziata joins Comedy Central comedian Jessica Kirson for a night of music and comedy like you've never experienced before. Jessica is the nationally touring tour-de-force comedian who has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, The View, HBO's Crashing and recently featured in the movie 'The Comedian with Robert DeNiro'. She also just finished taping her one-hour Comedy Central Special that will be premiering soon. Will and Anthony bring their trademark lyrical tenor voices and two-part harmonies to Christmas classics, Italian songs as well as hits from Frank Sinatra, Frankie Valli and beyond. Miami International Piano Festival presents: Jorge Luis Prats

"A Cuban marvel: Jorge Luis Prats: the best pianist you haven't heard of, this master pianist is unlike any other" BBC Music Magazine Hailed as a long-lost virtuoso in the grand tradition, Cuban pianist Jorge Luis Prats' 2007 concert at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts under the auspices of the Miami International Piano Festival was recorded in the VAI label. Its was the release of this live performance that reawakened great interest in his career and resulted in invitations to perform at the Verbier Festival, and in Amsterdam's Concertgebouw for four consecutive years of an overwhelming response. G. Nelson Bass III, Ph.D., J.D.: The Presidency - Past and Future

The Presidency - Past and Future Political Scientists have utilized a variety of methodologies and tools to explain the shifting power of the presidency and the ways in which we analyze presidential success and failure. This talk will examine some of the most influential studies and discuss recent trends that may alter the way we study the presidency moving forward. G. Nelson Bass III was awarded the Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award for 2014-2015, and was a finalist for the Faculty of the Year Award at the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 Student Life Achievement Awards. In 2012, Bass and several dedicated students created the Nova International Relations Association, which serves as NSU's Model United Nations Team. He is the Managing Editor of the open-access, peer-reviewed journal Class, Race and Corporate Power, and his own research focuses on the ways in which non-governmental organizations (NGOs) interact with U.S. foreign policy abroad.
